Trainer : Pacquiao Set to Deliver Cotto Knockout

LOS ANGELES: Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach has predicted a knockout by the Filipino southpaw when he challenges Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto for the WBO welterweight title on 14 November 2009 in Nevada, Las Vegas.

Roach has initially forecast the November 14 bout in Last Vegas would go the full distance but he has since changed his tune because of his fighter's impressive work in training camp.

"Camp is going very, very well and we are 100 percent ready for the fight," Roach said in on a teleconference call with Pacquiao on Wednesday. "I feel like Manny, the way he is punching right now and with the power has at this weight, is going to knock Cotto out. I am very confident and I look forward to the win," Roach added. - Reuters.

Roach: Pacman Will Expose Cotto


Filipino icon Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao's famed trainer, Freddie Roach believes that Puerto Rican star Miguel Cotto will be exposed when he tangles with the pound-for-pound king, Pacquiao in Las Vegas this coming 14 of November.

"I'm expecting Cotto to be his best," said Roach, who revealed that Manny Pacquiao will only train three weeks in the US and will have to spend five weeks somewhere else.

Roach also added that Pacquiao is at the top of his game right now. He also expect Cotto to be more resilient than De la Hoya and Hatton, so it well gonna be a better fight than those two guys did. The biggest thing about Cotto is that he's a strong guy, but Manny's not going to stand in front of him and trade.

Meanwhile, Cotto has warned Manny Pacman Pacquiao to be prepare for the worst when they meet this coming November. "Against me the story will be different. It well be a war," he added.

Miguel Cotto is trained under Joe Santiago, his chief trainer and South African Phil Landman, as his conditioning coach. He is now in his fourth week training in his home country, Puerto Rico.

Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao vs Miguel 'Junito' Cotto Fight set on 14 November

Las Vegas: The big fight between the two warriors, Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao vs Miguel 'Junito' Cotto will set on 14 November 2009 (HBO PPV) at MGM Grand, Nevada, Las Vegas.

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum reached an agreement with both camps.
"It's done, " Arum said. "While I was away I reached a verbal agreement with each side. Pacquiao committed to the fight this weekend and Cotto the week before while I was in Israel. I was on the phone all the time to get this done."


Pacquiao, (140 pounds) and Cotto (147 pounds), agreed to meet at 145 pound maximum weight.

And both boxers has a very effective southpaw, not to mention they had speed and power.


Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao, (30) of General Santos, Philippines and the currently 140-pound Junior Welterweight Champion with the impressive 49 wins, 3 draws, 2 loses with 37 KOs, is the only boxer in the world with sixth different weight class under his belt.


Miguel 'Junito' Cotto, (28) - 5'7" of Caguas, Puerto Rico, a title holder at 147 pounds with 34 wins, 1 loss and 27 KOs is a former Olympians (2000), and has been called 'The greatest amateur boxer ever from Puerto Rico' (1997-1999).


The tentative tour schedule would be 9 September in Los Angeles, 10 September in New York and 12 September in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

So, if you want blood, action and excitement, then this is match to watch out - "Pacquiao vs Cotto".
